ELTIF is the abbreviation for European long-term investment fund. It is a type of alternative investment fund governed by Regulation (EU) 2015/760, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2023/606, often called "ELTIF 2.0".
What it means
The framework channels capital into long-term projects, for example property, infrastructure and unlisted companies. A fund must be managed by an authorised alternative investment fund manager and is supervised by a competent authority.
Why it matters
The label shows that a fund follows the common European rules. It does not say the fund is of good quality, and it does not remove risks such as loss of capital or limited redemption. Read the key information document before investing.
